We welcome one highly-driven interdisciplinary and creative postdoctoral scientist to join the biomedical research arm of the group. The projects will elucidate and identify stability and applications of synthetic DNA-based nanoparticles as gene delivery systems in in vitro and, subsequently, in vivo models. This research direction is both NSF and NIH-funded. On a daily basis, research will expect fundamental knowledge and/or interest in nucleic acids, DNA-protein interaction, molecular and cell biology, single-cell microinjections, microscopy, cell culture, mammalian cell maintenance and propagation, transfection, and data analysis. Also, the ideal candidates will be involved in manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed publication and attending conferences to give presentations. The postdoctoral scientist will secure committed training, mentoring, and support from the PI in advancing their professional development. Additionally, they will have opportunities to hone their teaching skills through formal classroom teaching if it supports their future career goals, as well as mentoring undergraduate and graduate students within the group.

Candidates are required to have a PhD in life-sciences, materials science, or bioengineering. Candidates with an extensive background in cell culture, cell growth and propagation, and/or live cell fluorescence microscopy imaging are strongly encouraged to apply. Interested applicants should send their CV, 1-2 page cover letter, and contact information for three references to divita.mathur@case.edu
